Denty has as sweet a left foot as you could wish for. It is pure quality, as his numerous free-kick screamers over the years have shown. The less said the better about his right foot however! The key with Denty is making sure his petulant alter ego doesn’t come out in games. When his mind is on it he’s almost untouchable as a defender. He’d be the first to admit though that he’s allowed himself to get wound up by opposition players and fans in the past. This season though he quite simply has been brilliant. Equally comfortable putting himself amongst it in central defence or swinging in crosses when bombing forward from left back, Denty has developed in leaps and bounds in the last few years. Off the pitch Denty is very much his own man. Shocking taste in music and a funny hat, the boy is always good value. He’s a great laugh though and has got the driest sense of humour of probably anyone at the club!
